Skate Canada’s STARSkate program teaches figure skating skills in a progressive and sequential manner, in group lesson and/or private session formats. Skaters have the opportunity to take Skate Canada Tests through a nationally standardized testing system, or participate in competitions throughout the year.

This session is for skaters with a private coach to work on stroking, freeskate, ice dance & skating skills. No group instruction provided. 


Qualifications: 

  • This session is open to ALL Preliminary, Junior, Senior and adult STARSkaters with a private coach.
  • Preliminary STARSkaters must have passed CanSkate Stage 6 to skate unaccompanied on this session
  • CanSkate (Stage 6 and under) and CanPowerSkate skaters can also skate on a portion of this ice, provided they are accompanied by a private coach at all times. *To purchase a partial session for CanSkate and CanPower skaters, please contact the office to register.

Required Equipment: CanSkaters and CanPowerSkaters (adults included) must wear a CSA approved hockey helmet until completion of CanSkate Stage 5.

Session Description: Included with the registration fee is a 15-minute group stroking session conducted by a NCCP certified professional Skate Canada Coach. The remainder of the session time is allotted for independent Free Style and Dance segments, based on the schedule listed below. Skaters may choose to hire a coach for private or semi-private lessons at an additional fee payable to the coach at the time of the lesson.

  • 7:20-7:35 stroking (group instruction)

For  STARSkaters looking for daytime practice for the remainder of summer, consider our Day Ice/Ticket Ice program:

With the purchase of this session, skaters have access to all of the following sessions:  Aug 9 - Aug 31 2017 @ Nichols Arena 'A' Pad

  • Mondays, Aug 14-28 @ 8:00-9:50 am
  • Wednesdays, Aug 9-30 @ 2:30-3:50 pm
  • Thursdays, Aug 10-31 @ 8:00-9:50 am
  • Thursdays, Aug 10-31 @ 2:30-3:50 pm

Pricing:  The Summer Ticket Ice package can be purchased for the following fees:

  • $50 if a skater has purchased 6 or more full regular skating packages - days/evenings during the summer season at LSC.
  • $220 if a skater has not purchased any formal program ice in the summer season
  • Ticket ice is not subject to any early bird or multi-session discounts, and ticket ice fees will NOT be pro-rated
  • To receive discounted pricing, add the Ticket Ice program to your shopping cart. The price should be adjusted automatically. If the price is NOT adjusted: at checkout write a note in the Comments section requesting the discount to be applied, and select the 'Confirm and Pay in Person' option. Once the office has adjusted our invoice (if eligible), you will be emailed a new copy -- you can then log in to your account to pay the reduced balance via credit card.

Qualifications:

  • CanSkate, Preliminary and Select Levels 1 & 2 skaters MUST be in a private lesson with their coach at all times while they are on the ice.
  • Skaters in STARSkate Junior, STARSkate Senior, or Select Level 3 & 4 under the age of 18 MUST have an adult/guardian present at all times.
  • Adult session skaters and STARSkate skaters over the age of 18 are eligible to use this ice in accordance with Ticket Ice eligibility.

 Conditions of Use:

  • Skaters must be current members of Skate Canada, and have paid the $35.70 Skate Canada Membership fee for the 2016-2017 skating season
  • No guest skating permitted on ticket ice
  • No music equipment/personnel will be provided on Ticket ice sessions
  • See https://www.londonskatingclub.com/pages/Members-Info/No-Skating-Dates/ for a list of ‘no skating’ dates for Ticket Ice

Safety Considerations:

  • Skaters may not enter the ice surface before the stated session start time
  • Skaters may not remain on the ice after the stated session end time
  • Skaters may not occupy the ice surface when the Zamboni doors are open, or when the Zamboni is on the ice
  • Any skater not abiding by the above rules will not be covered under their Skate Canada member’s insurance, and may result in the London Skating Club’s Ticket Ice privileges being revoked
  • Any skater observed to be breaking these important safety rules (as reported by a coach, board member, or concerned parent) will be issued a warning upon the first offence/complaint. A second offence/complaint will result in the skater being removed from ticket ice for the duration of the season. Ticket ice fees will NOT be refunded if a skater is removed due to violation of the conditions of use
