 Evelyn Walsh and Trent Michaud

Also featuring Evelyn Walsh and Trennt Michaud

Evelyn Walsh and Trennt Michaud were long time friends and training mates when they decided to team up in August of 2016.  Their coaches, Alison Purkiss, Margaret Purdy and Kim McCaw knew instantly that they had something special…although, no one could have predicted the year that they have had!  With just 6 weeks together, Evelyn (15) and Trennt (20) travelled to Estonia and Germany to represent Canada on their first junior grand prix assignments as a team.  Their experiences and lessons from those events drove them to new goals and higher aspirations.  In January, they won the National Championships in Ottawa and in February, they won their first international medal when they won the Bavarian Open competition in Oberstdorf, Germany.  They are also extremely proud to represent Canada as Junior World Team Members in Chinese Taipei this March.  While they are busy athletes and competitors, they are also wonderful role models and ambassadors for our club and our sport.  Evelyn juggles a full high school course load at St. Andre Bessette with training for junior national competition in singles and pairs.  Trennt balances his training with several jobs including skate sharpener and equipment management for Jackson skates and personal training with Revolution Conditioning in London.  They are both thrilled to skate for you today in Evelyn's home town and are looking ahead to another exciting year!
