As London has now entered Stage 3, we want to provide an update on the status of registration and our upcoming September to December season. The LSC staff, board, and coaches have been working hard on making plans for our programming as we continue to work closely with the City of London and Skate Ontario.
Skate Ontario has provided return to play protocols for Stage 3 including maximum numbers of skaters and coaches that will be allowed on the ice for training purposes. The current Stage 3 maximum training group sizes are as follows:
Due to policies and procedures currently in effect as a result of COVID-19, skaters must be able to stand, move and recover from falls independently to be eligible for registration. Coaches will not be providing hands on assistance to skaters.
As more information becomes available daily and due to the uncertain nature of this skating season, LSC has decided to offer a September – December and a January – March session separately.
Due to the decreased numbers of skaters allowed on the ice at any given time, our costs will go up. We recognize that this is a difficult time for many families. To mitigate a substantive increase, we have done our best to explore opportunities to decrease costs in the operating budget.
Due to Covid restrictions PreCanSkate and Stage 1 skaters can’t skate in the regular CanSkate program due to no touching policy due to Covid. CanSkate will be open to skaters Stage 2-6.
Skaters in PreCanSkate and Stage 1 are more than welcome to sign up for the Parent & Tot program on Saturday afternoons where their parent can assist them on the ice.
These requirements are due to our governing bodies and are in line with Covid protocol until the pandemic is over or we are told otherwise.
