Volunteering with London Skating Club
The London Skating Club is a non-for-profit organization, and as such its success is largely the result of those volunteers who give back to the Club. Every year there are a number of volunteer opportunities through the LSC.
Board of Directors
The LSC is overseen by a volunteer Board of Directors. If you are interested in being involved on the Board of Directors, please express your interest to a current member. A list of members can be found under LSC Board of Directors.
Program Assistants
The success of our CanSkate program is based not only on the skill and commitment of our Coaches, but also the dedication of our more advanced skaters, who give back to the LSC as program assistants. Their assistance is invaluable to supporting the new young skaters on the ice.
Acting as a program assistant is not only beneficial to the LSC, but also a great opportunity for the development of leadership skills and an understanding of the value of giving back to your community. Program assistants are compensated by LSC through a credit system.
Additionally, those program assistants who are interested in forgoing their credits for application of hours to their secondary school volunteer hours can speak with the Supervisor of the Canskate program to make arrangements.
For more information on becoming a program assistant or compensation for this role, please contact the LSC office.
Other Volunteer Opportunities
Other opportunities are available throughout the year for volunteering with the club. If you are interested in volunteering with LSC, please speak with our volunteer coordinator regarding the various opportunities available.
