Select Team Registration Page

Select is a program that provides Talent Identified skaters a more intensive training program to allow them to fully utilize their skills with the end goal of developing competitive skaters in a group coaching model and team environment. The program for the 2017/2018 skating season will be divided into four levels: 

Select team Level 1 skaters must skate on at least TWO sessions per week in the 2017-18 Fall/Winter season: Level 1 skaters MUST skate on one full Fall/Winter CanSkate session of their choice.  The Tuesday All Select Group session is PREFERRED for team building for the skater and parents, but if you have a prior commitment the optional Sunday Select Group session or a second full fall/winter CanSkate session are options. The Sunday Select Group day is optional as a third day per week.

Note: to register for Select on a Fall/Winter CanSkate session, you must add BOTH the CanSkate program, and the corresponding Select Level 1: CanSkate Add-on to your shopping cart.

Select team Level 2 skaters must skate on at least TWO sessions per week in the 2017-18 Fall/Winter season: The Tuesday and Thursday Select Group sessions are MANDATORY, and are grouped as one program for your registration convenience. The Sunday Select Group day is optional as a third day per week.

Select team Level 3 skaters must skate on at least THREE sessions per week in the 2017-18 Fall/Winter season: The Tuesday, Wednesday and Sunday Select Group sessions are MANDATORY, and are grouped as one program for your registration convenience.

Select team Level 4 skaters must skate on at least THREE sessions per week in the 2017-18 Fall/Winter season plus ONE ticket ice session per week: The Tuesday, Wednesday and Sunday Select Group sessions are MANDATORY, and are grouped as one program for your registration convenience.

Note: for proper installment processing on your invoice, register for Select Level 4 (Tue/Wed/Sun@Nichols) on your first invoice. THEN register for Ticket Ice on a second invoice. The balance owing for Ticket Ice will be adjusted to $0 on this second invoice.

Skaters will be coached exclusively by select team coaches, and coaching fees will be included in Select team fees at time of registration

Coaching and Lesson Format: On this session, Select Team skaters will participate in a Select GROUP Lesson on-ice, followed by a 20 minute group stroking session with the Junior B/Senior skaters. The main focus will be Stroking, Edge Development, Posture, Basic Spin Technique, Basic Jump Technique, Flexibility, Balance, Artistic on ice development, Off-ice training for the rink and home.

Select skaters may choose to hire a professional coach at an additional fee to suplement group lessons, however this is not mandatory.  If a skater already has a private coach, please consult with your coach before enrolling in this program.

Qualifications: Invitation only. Skaters have been chosen after meeting requirements during the assessment/recommendation process.

Prerequisite :

For figure skaters looking for daytime practice ice in addition to, or instead of, formal London Skating Club skating programs.


With ticket ice purchase, skaters have access to ALL of the following sessions each week for the whole Fall/Winter season (Sep 5 2017 - Mar 28 2018):

TICKET ICE PRICING:

  • The Fall/Winter Ticket Ice package, that includes all dates listed above, can be purchased for a discounted price if a skater has purchased at least 2 full regular skating sessions in the Fall/Winter season (including skating on a Synchronicity team).
  • This Ticket Ice package must be purchased for the regular price if you have not signed up for at least 2 FULL LENGTH Fall/Winter programs.
  • THERE WILL BE NO PRO-RATING OF TICKET ICE FEES AND THERE IS NO GUEST SKATING PERMITTED!
  • Eligible FULL programs for discounted Ticket Ice include:

    • Any CanSkate or STARSkate on-ice program that runs from September/October through to March
    • Skating on any Synchronicity synchronized skating team
    • NOTE that half season (Sep/Oct to Dec, or Jan to Mar) group programs, or Sep ONLY STARSkate sessions, do NOT count as a FULL regular skating session, for the purposes of purchasing discounted ticket ice
  • Ticket ice is not subject to any early bird or multi-session discounts, and ticket ice fees will NOT be pro-rated
  • To receive discounted pricing, add the Ticket Ice program to your shopping cart.  The price should be adjusted automatically once the required number of additional sessions have been purchased. If the price is NOT adjusted and you believe it should be: at checkout write a note in the Comments section requesting the discount to be applied, and select the 'Confirm and Pay in Person' option. Once the office has verified your eligibility for a discount, you will be emailed a revised invoice -- you can then log in to your account to pay the reduced balance via credit card.

Qualifications:

  • CanSkate, Preliminary and Select 1/2 level skaters MUST be in a private lesson with their coach at all times while they are on the ice
  • Skaters in STARSkate Junior A/B, STARSkate Senior, or Select Level 3 under the age of 18 MUST have an adult/guardian present at all times
  • Adult session skaters and STARSkate skaters over the age of 18 may use the ice unsupervised

Conditions of Use:

  • Skaters must be current members of Skate Canada, and have paid the $35.70 Skate Canada Membership fee for the 2016-2017 skating season
  • No guest skating permitted on ticket ice
  • No music equipment/personnel will be provided on Ticket ice sessions
  • See https://www.londonskatingclub.com/pages/Members-Info/No-Skating-Dates/ for a list of ‘no skating’ dates for Ticket Ice

Safety Considerations:

  • Skaters may not enter the ice surface before the stated session start time
  • Skaters may not remain on the ice after the stated session end time
  • Skaters may not occupy the ice surface when the Zamboni doors are open, or when the Zamboni is on the ice
  • Any skater not abiding by the above rules will not be covered under their Skate Canada member’s insurance, and may result in the London Skating Club’s Ticket Ice privileges being revoked
  • Any skater observed to be breaking these important safety rules (as reported by a coach, board member, or concerned parent) will be issued a warning upon the first offence/complaint. A second offence/complaint will result in the skater being removed from ticket ice for the duration of the season. Ticket ice fees will NOT be refunded if a skater is removed due to violation of the conditions of use

Our Select Program offers young figure skaters the opportunity to further develop their on-ice and off-ice skills by enhancing their skating experience.  The main focus of the program is to help skaters transition better into the STARSkate, SynchroSkate and Competitive Streams of Skate Canada

Coaching and Lesson Format: On this session, Select Team skaters will participate in a Select GROUP Lesson on-ice, followed by a 20 minute group stroking session with the Junior B/Senior skaters. The main focus will be Stroking, Edge Development, Posture, Basic Spin Technique, Basic Jump Technique, Flexibility, Balance, Artistic on ice development, Off-ice training for the rink and home.

Select skaters may choose to hire a professional coach at an additional fee to suplement group lessons, however this is not mandatory.  If a skater already has a private coach, please consult with your coach before enrolling in this program.

Qualifications: Invitation only. Skaters have been chosen after meeting requirements during the assessment/recommendation process.

Prerequisite : 

Select team Level 1 skaters must skate on at least TWO sessions per week in the 2017-18 Fall/Winter season: The Tuesday Select Group session is MANDATORY.  Level 1 skaters MUST also skate on one full Fall/Winter CanSkate session of their choice.

Select team Level 2 skaters must skate on least TWO sessions per week in the 2017-18 Fall/Winter season: The Tuesday and Thursday Select Group sessions are MANDATORY.

COST: Includes the ice costs, group coaching costs and off-ice training. 

Required equipment: CSA approved hockey helmets are MANDATORY for Select Skaters until completion of CanSkate Stage 5.
